Welcome Dr. Amanda Rust
Join us in welcoming our new veterinarian!
Dr. Amanda Rust earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from Colorado State University in 2021. She is certified in Veterinary Acupuncture through CuraCore and holds a Fear Free certification. Committed to continuous learning, Dr. Rust has pursued advanced training in Veterinary Dentistry, periodontal surgery, and Radiology through Well Pets Animal Dental Care and Oral Surgery, as well as in Anesthesia through Anesthesia Bootcamp with Case.
Dr. Rust's passion for veterinary medicine was sparked by her first dog, a Norwegian Elkhound named Molly, whom her family received as a gift when she was just three years old. This early bond with animals inspired her lifelong dedication to veterinary care.
At Coal Mine Animal Hospital, Dr. Rust is particularly interested in soft tissue surgery, integrative pain management, and preventative medicine. She finds great fulfillment in helping pets live healthy, pain-free lives, and she treasures the opportunity to assist pet owners in caring for their beloved companions.
Outside of work, Dr. Rust enjoys spending time with her family in the Ken Caryl area, including her high school sweetheart and husband, Nate, their two-year-old son, Ezekiel, and their pets: Sully and Nala, two Golden Mountain Dogs, and Bogart, a 13-year-old domestic medium hair cat. Her hobbies include spending time outdoors with her family, quilting, and painting, with a special love for Italian food. Above all, she considers becoming a mom to be her greatest life accomplishment.
